when it applies
This service is for a new installation. If equipment is already in place and the decision is whether to repair, replace or upgrade it, start with the relevant service so that proposals are built on the same brief.
New shop or premises
Coordinate cooling zones, equipment locations and site interfaces before partitions, ceilings and other fit-out work are fixed.
Office fit-out or relocation

Floor area and horsepower do not define the installation
Premises of the same size can need very different arrangements because of their use, occupancy, sun exposure, heat-producing equipment, hours and layout. For the first enquiry, share the details already available so the discussion can focus on the relevant site conditions.

Find the constraints that drawings cannot show
A site survey checks scope, locations and interfaces. The information available and actual site conditions determine what can be confirmed during the visit and what needs follow-up in the proposal or by another responsible party.

Some interfaces need a separate owner and review
An air-conditioning installation can involve fixed electrical work, supports or openings, fire services, common areas, work at height, lifting, restricted hours and other building services. Registered persons, professional advice, management consent, submissions or permits is required based on the location and exact work.

Occupied premises
Phasing, protection, shutdowns, temporary arrangements and reinstatement need to be defined rather than covered by a broad “business as usual” statement.
Fixed electrical and fire interfaces
Relevant work must be handled by the appropriate registered or responsible parties and itemised in the air-conditioning quotation.
Starting the equipment is only part of handover
Applicable tests, commissioning conditions, acceptance criteria and records should be agreed in the proposal or project documents. Handover should also identify exceptions, incomplete work and items to be completed by other parties.

Questions to settle before a site survey
Which documents can I provide for an initial enquiry?
Share any floor plans, site photos, intended use, target dates and management information you already have. Items to confirm can be identified during the initial review, site survey or follow-up by the responsible party.
Can the air-conditioning size be estimated from floor area alone?
Floor area is only one input. Occupancy, use, sun exposure, heat-producing equipment, operating hours, zoning, building systems and installation limits can all affect the proposal.
Can an occupied office be completed in phases?
You can propose zones, shutdowns and preferred available work period. Safe isolation, access, protection, operational impact, other trades and building rules still need to be checked and written into the scope.
How are management submissions, electrical and ceiling work shown in the proposal?
The proposal should identify who is responsible for documentation, fixed electrical work, openings, ceilings, fire interfaces, lifting, protection and reinstatement, including provisional items and work to be arranged separately.
Can work take place at night, on Sundays or public holidays?
State your preferred windows when you enquire. Feasibility depends on building rules, the work, noise, equipment, approvals, labour planning and the formal quotation.
What should be provided at handover?
Based on the system and contract, this can include test or commissioning records, equipment information, drawings, operating guidance and an outstanding-items list. Confirm the actual deliverables before accepting the proposal.
